Did you know that tribe.net parses profile lists, and deletes duplicate entries? I deliberately duplicated an entry in one list, and I've only just noticed that it doesn't appear on my profile the way I wrote it.
I enjoyed setting up a teensy word play that had the potential to amuse one or two people. I wasn't perturbed by the prospect that no-one might ever *actually* find it amusing, but I'm disappointed that the potential is lost. (There may be a way to work around it; I haven't experimented yet.)
Many other automated error-correcting (or, indeed, process-generating) systems bother me in similar ways. I often want to use systems in irregular ways to achieve particular effects, and while I understand that building "expertise" into the system can ramp up an average users productivity, it can severely compress the output range of someone who brings along their own expertise. I suppose, if you value uniformity of outcome, that's not seen as a problem. (*blerk*)
